It’s amazing the impact stress has on our lives. Every day, millions of people wake up worrying about something they have little to no control over, wondering how to stop stress from controlling everything they do.

Even more astonishing is that these people accept this as the status quo.

They feel that to be successful in life, they have to spend a significant portion of their lives stressed.

Nowadays it seems normal that when we do something important it comes with a lot of stress. Whether it is true or not, stress can have a very negative effect on your health.

Today you're going to learn how to prevent stress from ruining your life

Lack of sleep, poor diet, lack of exercise, and constant stress increase your risk of developing a number of diseases and conditions, combined with the emotional toll, stress can keep you from achieving your goals.

Enough with the negativity

There is no unwritten rule that says “you have to be stressed to be successful in life”.

Rather the opposite

I define success as feeling fulfilled in every aspect of my life. I spend a lot of time with my children and make time to learn every day.

When you find peace in these simple, almost everyday moments, you gain control over the stress in life. Stop asking how to stop stress, and start living as if there is nothing to worry about.

Recognize the sources of stress

Busyness is a major source of stress for many people. It is not true that most things change your life: forgetting a doctor's appointment, forgetting to get meat from the butcher, leaving the TV on when you leave in the morning, will not have a negative effect on your life unless you let it.

So the first step is to ask yourself “where does this stress come from” and make a list of the true sources.

Tackling stress step by step

You'd be shocked how many sources of stress are actually stupid. There are things on that list that you already knew shouldn't cause you stress. They do because you're so busy and never thought about it.

Think about the things you worry about. Is it really that likely that you won’t be able to pay your bills next month? Thinking about your worries will help you realize that they are not as extreme as you thought, 95% of all worries are illusions.

Healthy lifestyle with clear goals

Stress occurs because we lose control of our thoughts, there are many things you can do to regain that control, one of the most effective actually has nothing to do with thinking.

Exercise and healthy food will give you a sense of calm and clarity that you will never get from self-reflection. The better you take care of your body, the easier it is to control the sensations of life.

Not only that, exercise is incredibly relaxing, it releases chemicals that make you feel better and it releases negative energy that builds up in your body over time. You can then more easily be the director of your thoughts.
