I had decided to go to the hotel next door on Monday evening to be able to start the first day calmly. The training location of Be More You is on the Zevenheuvelenweg next to the Hampshire hotel, holthurnsche-hof, a nice quiet location without distractions.
I received a questionnaire in advance to think about the goals I wanted to work on during my training and to pass it on to my coach. Including long-term goals, what is my point on the horizon. What do I want to pay extra attention to, how am I in my relationships, both privately and professionally.
The three steps you go through in this flowyu method can be summarized as follows:
Step 1: Want
Based on a measurement of your brain activity in the first session, your personal flowyu profile is determined and it is clear where you are now. Based on this information, you determine, together with your coach, which growth opportunities form the starting point for your program.
Step 2: Can
Using visual (film), auditory (music) and tactile (vibrations) feedback, your brain is trained in a playful way to develop new neural pathways. You are 'rewarded' via these senses when your development goes in the right direction and you receive a 'warning' when you fall into undesirable behavior.
This process may be incomprehensible to you, but very simple to your brain. It examines: does what I am doing now work (and do I continue with it) or not (and do I try something new)? In this way, we guide you to address and record new pathways in your brain to stimulate new, desired development.
Step 3: Do
The most important thing you take with you are the new pathways you have developed in your brain, which form the foundation of the new behavior that will develop more and more clearly in your life. Through your increased objectivity, openness and self-awareness, you are much better able to focus your attention and energy on what you can actually do something with. The first day I was picked up at 9:00 in the lobby of the hotel by my coach Ingrid. After an introductory talk we started with the measurement to determine my personal Flowyu profile. This is the first session of day 1. After this I got a break of one hour to rest and a number of questions to think about and write down.
The 2nd session consisted of a number of brain trainings. The first by means of a film and the second by means of music. The intention is to stay in the Here and now, by means of the measurements it can be seen to what extent you are in the Now. If you are too focused (over engaged) you will see that on the screen and if you are insufficiently focused (under engaged) you will also see that. Only if you are relaxed in the here and now you are “rewarded” with vibrations of a special cushion that lies on your lap and the screen that is at full size. If you stray just a little bit (which I sometimes did not even consciously notice, but does happen in your brain) you see the image getting smaller, your brain trains and looks for a way to keep the image open, a very bizarre experience. The second method is an eyes closed training, by means of high and low tones you hear whether you are really relaxed in the here and now.
The second day we did three trainings. I experienced the 2-day track & trace module as pleasant, you have full attention for yourself. This way you (re)discover what is really important to you.
I experienced the training as a great added value, through the real-time measurement of and feedback on your current brain activity you become aware of your current triggers and it enables you to develop more effective behavior instead. Because the natural learning ability of your brain is put into the highest gear, you achieve targeted fast and lasting results.
I have experienced the track & trace module of the flowyu method as one of the most effective and efficient ways to say goodbye to your ineffective behavior and accelerate your personal development. I have more peace in my head and can make better contact with my feelings.
